Seriously Easy No Knead Bread

No-Knead Artisan Bread is a marvel in the world of baking, celebrated for its simplicity and the exceptional quality of bread it produces. With a crusty exterior and a soft, airy interior, this bread boasts a flavor and texture that rival those of a professional bakery, making it a beloved choice for both novice and experienced bakers. Its minimalistic approach removes the intimidation from bread making, inviting everyone to partake in the joy of baking bread at home.

No Knead Bread Add-Ons

The health benefits of homemade No-Knead Artisan Bread are notable, primarily because it allows for control over the ingredients, ensuring the absence of preservatives found in commercially available bread. Whole wheat flour can be incorporated to increase fiber content, supporting digestive health. For those looking to experiment, adding seeds like flaxseed or sunflower seeds not only enhances the nutritional profile with omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins but also introduces delightful texture and flavors to the bread.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water, lukewarm

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Add lukewarm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rest at room temperature for 1-24 hours.
  3. After the resting period, preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a cast-iron pan or dutch oven with a lid in the oven as it preheats.
  4. Preheat Pot for 25-30 minutes.
  5. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and shape it into a ball. Cover with a cloth and let it rest while the pot heats.
  6. Carefully remove the hot pot from the oven. Place the dough inside, cover with the lid, and bake for 35 minutes. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes to brown the crust.
  7. Remove the bread from the pot and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
