Perhaps the most important thing to maintain is perspective. At the end of the day, we as CrossFitters are often working on complicated movements. These are movements that, in some cases, are performed at the Olympic level. Let that sink in. You wouldn’t start rock climbing and get frustrated that you couldn’t climb something like El Capitan in this video.
The same should apply to the various technical movements within CrossFit. Alternatively, CrossFit for many of us is an active hobby, which means the fanatical level of work that goes into mastering anything, isn’t usually high on our priority lists. And that’s okay! It just means that we need to cut ourselves some slack when we’re trying to practice handstand walks once every 2 weeks for about 10 minutes. It takes time to learn anything, especially when you only get to spend a little bit of time practicing it.
